Reflecting on my past year as a reader (and the 51 books I enjoyed!)

A few books and practices that help me enter into this season of preparation with gentleness and an unhurried look at Jesus.

My season of life is full and busy, and reading has continued to be joyful, restful, beautiful, enriching, and absolutely necessary. 

We need books that, instead of preparing us to go toe-to-toe with one another, show us how to walk shoulder-to-shoulder as we receive Jesus’s gospel of grace and welcome the kingdom of God.

Here are some questions I have personally found to be helpful to consider when reading any book on a hot-button cultural topic.

Or the alternate title: “How I Was Just Crazy Enough to Read 57 Books in One Year with Four Kids, Five-Years-Old and Under”

’Tis the season for searching for that just-right gift.  (An aside: Has anyone cracked the code on gifts for dads/fathers-in-law? They always say they don’t need anything! Like, what am I supposed to do with that?!) 

Instead of another gift list (I’m such a sucker for those), here is a list of books I have been received as gifts that came at just the right time.
